Communication Skill Development Motivational by Khatuna Jannat Esha - September 11, 2024September 23, 20240 People are judgmental and ready to judge you regardless of whatever you do. I’ve faced mockery myself and, in those moments, felt like crying and distancing myself from those who laughed. I wish I had faced them and worked hard to show them who I’ve become. Currently, I’m focusing on becoming the best version of myself. As one of my shortcomings lies in communication, I am trying to improve it as a key part of that journey. The aspect of communication that is the most crucial in my journey is the confidence to speak in both day-to-day life and on stage. It’s natural to feel nervous, and you will hardly find anyone who is not. But with thorough preparation, you can make a great difference. I’ve been going through YouTube videos and podcasts on communication skills, and here are some tips I have learned so far: 1. Rate of Speech: The first step is to speak slowly so that you can prevent stuttering by making your message clearer.Volume of Speech: You need to adjust your volume according to the situation to ensure a suitable atmosphere. 2.When to Pause: You get to Pause appropriately within sentences, not between words. It’s impossible to stutter if you thoughtfully select your words and complete the sentence at once. 3. Practice regularly: Whatever you’re reading, try to read aloud with the correct pronunciation. It helps to improve your speech over time. In addition, practice in front of a mirror or record yourself and observe if your tongue slips. Keep an eye on your accent and tonality. While practicing writing, make sure your grammar and vocabulary are correct by using grammar checker tools. 4. Be a Fighter: Don’t let criticism deter you. Let people laugh at you. Never let the railing of people dishearten you. Therefore, talk as much as you want whenever you have the chance. The more you talk, the more you’ll know about your lack. In addition to these tips, remember: 1. Engage Your Audience: Smooth talking isn’t enough. Ensure your message is interesting and valuable to the audience. 2. Speak from Experience: Share your personal experiences rather than just facts.
